teacher

In the teachers’ pages you find general information about the philosophy behind the project and the goals of the lessons.
You can find also an instruction about working with the case-oriented method, more information about the cases, and an instruction how to make it an international project

If you click methods you will enter the part of the site that is only open for teachers (or leaders of youth groups etc). If you mail us, you will get a password, and after that you are free to use the material of this part of the site.
You will find there the information you need to work with the cases (answers to the questions etc).
For teachers there is also a series of 'thematic lessons', based on actual situations. You can use these for different educational activities: traditional lessons or for (groups of) students to work on in a project model. We try to add on a regular basisi new items here.

They are based on actual problems. The themes are :
- Water (in 'Water and History' and The Dying Dead Sea),
- Food (in 'Agriculture in the Desert'; (this is of course also about water!) and ‘Wonderbeans’, and 'Growing food in the city'
- Population biology of humans (in 'Easter Island')
- Ecological degradation ( in 'Easter Island')
- Energy in 'Who needs oil anyway?' and 'Making sense of geothermal energy'

A number of cases, developed in co-operation with Indonesian teachers, are available in Bahasa Indonesia, see Indonesian cases
The texts are given both in Indonesian and in English, which makes it easy to use them in international exchange projects. The cases are the same as the cases in the English version.
They are fit for printing, schools without computers for students can use them in a paper version.
